Miller High Life

Brewer: SABMiller/Molson Coors

Location:  Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Marketing Slogan: The Champagne of Beers

Alcohol Percentage:   4.7%

Survey says: Miller High Life has been around since 1903. It is not to be confused with Miller Genuine Draft (MGD) which is cold filtered and non-pasteurized to better resemble true draft beer taste. The slogan about being the Champagne of Bottled beers originated because of its supposed high level of carbonation similar to champagne. We however did not detect this in our sample and the panel actually felt that it had a low level of carbonation. This beer is very smooth and mellow tasting. It has a nice light flavor with no bitterness or hops flavor. It definitely has more flavor than Bud and no bad aftertaste at the end of the glass. One panelist felt that this beer flavor is exactly what you would expect if you were to buy a draft beer at a dive bar. Overall the panel felt it was just OK, nothing to write home about or reason for suddenly joining the High Life.
